Today the snow falls thick and fast. The blizzard whips through the alpine vegetation. The trees are soft after summer, the weight of the snow brings branches to the ground. The whiteness is silent when the wind drops.
I wish I was there. Alas, I sit at a desk in the city and know what I'm missing. The first snowfall of the season is always the hardest.

OTOH ... being at the city desk allows you the wherewithal to actually afford skiing.
ReplyDeleteIt's a Catch 22 bind.
Do take care when you do go.
FG, indeed it is a catch 22. However, being in the unique position of having lived at the snow for 15 years, it's the city desk that allows me to have a modest home and a vegie patch and dog which the snow could never offer. Of course... I want the best of both worlds! And this is the very reason that I know what I'm missing, and why the first snowfall is always the hardest x
ReplyDeleteHi - thanks for your visit at anodyne Ann oDynes. I am 60 years old so I am probably not who you thought I was. I know Sam from The Ears first record. Rock ON.
ReplyDeleteRock on indeed :) Your age is not the issue, but if the Biscuits reference does not ring a bell, then indeed, you probably are not :)
ReplyDeleteShe was a lovely lady, and was an owner of ML about 20 years ago. You probably know her too. The world becomes a small place when certain minds come together. Nice to meet you here, thanks for following (I'm not too regular but should make more of an effort I'm sure).
I like the first comment as I am in the same catch 22: i may not get to go skiing like i used to but when I do i sure make the most of it!!
